Atrauman AG sterile silver-containing ointment compress

Atrauman® Ag is a silver-containing ointment compress designed for the treatment of wounds with a high bacterial load or infected wounds. It is a soft, thin material that is easy to apply and provides good contact with the wound. The ointment mass promotes healing and keeps the wound soft. The silver in the bandage actively works against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, including MRSA strains. It releases small amounts of silver over a longer period (7 days) to protect healthy cells. Atrauman® Ag is a safe and effective product that can contribute to the healing process of wounds.

Atrauman AG is suitable for the treatment of a wide range of wounds, including:

  • Infected wounds
  • Chronic wounds
  • Burns
  • Surgical wounds

The compress is soft and comfortable for the patient and it is easy to apply and remove.

Material

  • Woven polyamide fibers coated with elemental silver and impregnated with a triglyceride-based ointment
  • Silver content corresponds to 30-50mg/100 cm2
  • Classified as medical device class IIb, sterile
  • Equipped with a CE marking

Special precautions

  • A medical assessment is always necessary before treating wounds contaminated or infected with bacteria
  • Under no circumstances can a silver-containing dressing replace wound cleaning
  • Atrauman® Ag should not be used in combination with paraffin-containing ointments

Indication and application

  • As an additional measure in the treatment of wounds with a high bacterial load or infected wounds
  • Also as additional infection prophylaxis in combination with wound treatment
