View full detailsHydrolloid dressing promotes the formation of new tissue by stimulating the activities of fibroblasts . These provide fiber products for the skin, including elastin fibers. These fibers ensure that the connective tissue returns to its original shape.
Hydrocollid dressings with extra absorbency
Because there may be large or small wounds that exudate heavily, the Hydrocoll dressing has an extra high absorption capacity to absorb the exudate to promote wound healing. This exudate is then well retained in the dressing, which contributes to a wound that is somewhat slower in the course of healing.
Hydrocollid dressing from Hydrocoll is self-adhesive and has a semi-permeable polyurethane film that prevents bacteria and moisture from penetrating the wound environment.
Hydrocollid gel
When the exudate from the wound increases, the Hydrocoll absorbent dressing continues to perform its absorbent work. When the increase is approx. one centimeter above the edge of the bandage, the bandage is saturated and needs to be replaced.
The hydrocollid gel forms a layer on the underside of the plaster so that the bandage does not stick during healing or replacement. This gel layer prevents pain when removing the bandage.
Hydrocollid bandage during showering or bathing
The bandage can remain in place while showering or bathing and therefore does not need to be removed. Hydrocoll bandages do not transmit UV-A or B radiation. In addition, different plasters can be used for the different statuses of the wound. The Hydrocoll Thin bandage is a somewhat thinner bandage with less absorbency, but extremely suitable for the epithelialization phase .
