You can apply a support bandage for the arm to treat various complaints. If you are dealing with a sprain or strain, bandages can help keep the swelling caused by the injury from increasing. By limiting the swelling of the arm, you prevent blood flow from being obstructed and this is important. If blood cannot flow freely through the affected tissue, waste products cannot be removed and this will hinder healing. Disrupted blood circulation can also ultimately cause damage to the muscles and joints. Support bandages can also be used to stop active bleeding and to combat lymphedema in the arm. Support bandages have multiple uses and it is therefore advisable to always have support bandages at home, so that you can take immediate action in the event of an injury.
