Peak flow meter for asthma management
A peak flow meter is a device used in general practices to diagnose asthma. This meter can also be used for follow-up treatments regarding this lung condition. The patient must blow into a peak flow meter and the force of the patient's exhalation will push the meter away in the device. The greater the flow rate, the further the meter will deviate. In order to compare results with each other to obtain a reliable picture, it is important that the peak current is measured with the same device at different measuring moments. People who suffer from asthma are therefore wise to purchase a peak flow meter themselves, so that the different measurements can be taken with the same device.
