Clinical audiometry is accessible to everyone

Most people who have hearing problems go to a hearing care professional. Hearing is tested by means of clinical audiometry. The person who is tested puts on headphones for this purpose. The headphones are connected to an audiometer. This allows you to hear a beep or another tone at various volumes and frequencies. Usually there is also a response button connected to the audiometer. This must be pressed as soon as the tone is heard. In this way an analysis can be made of how hearing impaired someone is. Using the test results, it is determined whether a hearing aid or other actions are needed.
