An optimal wound environment with hydrogel

Hydrogel is a gel that is free of viable organisms and consists of about 80% to 90% water. The binder in the hydrogel ensures that moisture can be absorbed and retained. Thanks to the large amounts of water in the gel, the wound remains moist and this creates an optimal wound environment. Superficial layers of dead tissue and crusts will soften due to the moist environment, causing this wound waste to become loose and can be easily removed. The moist wound environment is very beneficial for the healing of injuries and for the patient's feeling. This is because the hydrogel has a cooling and pain-relieving effect.
