A manual blood pressure monitor for auscultatory measurements

With a manual blood pressure monitor, blood pressure can be measured using the auscultatory method. With this method, the cuff is placed around the upper arm and the doctor will inflate the cuff to the desired level with a special balloon. The medical specialist will then listen to the Korotkoff sounds with a stethoscope to determine blood pressure. When performing a manual blood pressure measurement, a stethoscope and good hearing are important to achieve a reliable measurement.
