You can treat various conditions with a pressure bandage. If you want to provide first aid for a bleeding wound, you can use a compression bandage to stop the bleeding. For wounds where there is no blood loss, support bandages can also be useful. Consider, for example, a bruise that you sustained during exercise or during an accident. If you apply a pressure bandage to the arm in case of swelling, the counter pressure that arises from outside ensures that the swelling does not increase further. This limits the occurrence of possible bruises. Compression bandages can also be applied to prevent lymphedema after removal of a lymph node by a surgeon.
